Job Description:
The Healey School is located in the Winter Hill section of Somerville, MA and serves students from a wide range of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. The school values collaboration and teacher leadership, and seeks candidates who are motivated to work in an urban environment and apply best practices in literacy and math in the service of each student's learning. The Healey is proud of its low class sizes(approximately 15 students per class), professional development for teachers, and after-school programming for students. The Choice program, which makes up one of several programs at the Healey School, has for 23 years featured a strong commitment to constructivist education, parent involvement, and team teaching. It is located on the northeast slope of Winter Hill overlooking the Mystic River and the Boston skyline. With an average class size of 18, approximately 590 students are enrolled at the Healey School in one of four educational programs: * Thirteen Choice classes K - 6 * Three multi-graded specialized classes for students with learning disabilities. * Nine Neighborhood classes K - 6 * Five Middle School Program classes 7 - 8 * After school programs are available for daycare, academic remediation or enrichment and recreation.

Qualifications:
Certification - Early Childhood Teacher of Students with and without Disabilities, in the state of Massachusetts Complete application documentation of certification, transcripts and three letters of recommendation, but please forward resume and cover letter as soon as possible.
