Recruitment Specialist

Job Description:
The Recruitment Specialist, assigned to work with The Director of Recruitment and HR, will manage the Director’s schedule, meetings, appointments, phone calls, emails, and written correspondence. The Recruitment Specialist will follow-up on all aspects of the Director’s work and will work with the Director on projects and assignments of the local (Met) and national (Big Picture) scope. The role requires a fast moving, strategic thinker who acts with enthusiasm, can follow instructions and has a direct, assertive style. The role supports the Director’s transition into additional duties and requires someone who is able to assist in organizing the school’s staffing needs. We are seeking candidates who believe deeply in our organization and thrive in an entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Past demonstrated leadership, strong organizational and communication skills are required. The Recruitment Specialist must be detail oriented, highly organized, able to multi-task, and skilled in the use of Macintosh technology when used as a communication tool. The Recruitment Office works extended hours on a regular basis, staying ahead of the anticipated volume, having consistent follow through, and meeting deadlines is essential. Skills Required: • Four-year college degree preferred • 3-5 years experience assisting senior level staff • Strong interest and passion for education and kids preferred • Experience working in support of youth or educational programming • Computer and Internet proficiency: Microsoft Windows, Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), and web navigation • File Maker Pro and Adobe Creative Suite ability preferred • Excellent written/oral communication skills • Ability to work independently and as a team member • Ability to function under pressure, handle multiple assignments, and follow through on deadlines • Ability to keep order and structure within the work environment • Ability to research relevant information and analyze data • Remain productive, focused, and flexible in an extremely fast-paced, constantly changing environment • A sense of humor always Specific Responsibilities Include: • Manage production and delivery of all recruitment-marketing materials in a timely manner • Daily maintenance of database for all applicants • Manage website content and post all specifications related to recruitment • Organization of recruitment materials and applicant data collection derived from database • Maintain communication on behalf of the Director with Principals and varied Directors regarding data, recruitment materials, and overall school information • Create organizational systems and tools that help the Director with daily work and keep the Director updated and connected with all schools • Act as a liaison between the Director and the school community in a way that makes constituents feel confident that the Director will receive the information shared or that their request will be considered when its received • Remain up to date on all phone calls, targeted emails, and correspondence sent to the Director on a daily basis • Assist in training of new recruitment staff • Create an organized filing system for records • Assist in establishing and maintaining the Director’s schedule • Provide written communication on behalf of the Director • Edit written work when needed from the Recruitment Office • Collect support materials from Big Picture and other school resources for recruitment needs • Regularly attend staff meetings when conducted • Help plan recruitment events • Research teacher recruitment events and opportunities, and coordinate all event and travel logistics. (May attend Recruitment Fairs if necessary.) Student Recruitment Scope: Responsible for all new upper class Student Recruitment efforts for The Met school, including the application process, open houses, interview nights, guidance counselor events, and student recruitment assemblies. Daily Responsibilities/Focus: To lead all student recruitment activities - • Application Process: maintain an ample supply of updated applications, fulfill informational requests, keep an up-to-date database of applicants, keep/maintain files on each applicant, send out acceptance packets, and provide updates on applicants • Organize the student placement process by calculating incoming student data, prepare for lottery by following up on incomplete files with families and schools, execute lottery, and create/maintain waitlist • Coordinate recruitment special events, including open houses, guidance breakfasts, school visits/presentations, and student interview nights • You will handle everything from start to completion, including coordinating mailings, staff and student recruitment team volunteers, materials needed, RSVPs, running the event, and follow through on inquiries and data entry following each event. • Respond to all inquiries regarding student recruitment and handle the correspondence as it applies to the recruiting process • Track incoming and exiting students with Central Office • Prepare annual recruitment calendar Work Hours: Monday–Friday: 8:30am until 5:00pm Many evenings required, particularly during recruitment season Evaluation Process: 90-day evaluation and end of fiscal year evaluation To find out more please contact Patricia Holliday at pholliday@metmail.org or call 401.752.2627.
