Job Description:
Student Recruitment & Admissions- Job Description The Student Recruitment and Admissions role is assigned to work with the Director and will manage various aspects of student recruitment work as well as plan recruitment events. The role requires a fast moving thinker who acts with enthusiasm. The Student Recruitment and Admissions position must provide a fair process for all students. The role supports the Director’s transition into additional staff recruitment duties and requires someone who is able to assist her in organizing the student recruitment process for six schools, as well as someone who is able to accept responsibility and challenge. The Student Recruitment and Admissions position will communicate frequently on behalf of the Director and will coordinate work efforts with additional staff to keep them informed of the recruitment process. The role of Student Recruitment and Admissions must be detail oriented, highly organized, have the ability to multi-task, and skilled in the use of technology when used as a communication tool. The position focuses on finding solid student applicants as well as conducting the 9th grade application process from recruitment to enrollment. Skills Required: • Four year college degree preferred • Strong interest and passion for education and kids • Experience working in support of youth or educational programming • Minimum of 3 years working in a fast paced environment • Computer and internet proficiency: Microsoft Windows, Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), and web navigation • Excellent written/oral communication skills (writing/editing, phone follow up) • Ability to work independently and as a team member • Ability to function under pressure, handle multiple assignments, and follow through on deadlines • Ability to research relevant information and analyze data • Remain productive, focused, and flexible in a constantly changing environment • Able to achieve goals and proven capability of being successful in a goal orientated work environment • A sense of humor Specific Responsibilities Include: • Organization of student recruitment materials and applicant data collection • Maintain communication with the Director regarding data, recruitment materials, and overall school recruitment information • Act as a liaison between the Director and the school community in a way that makes constituents feel confident that the Director will receive the information shared or that their request will be considered when it’s received • Remain up to date on all phone calls, emails, and correspondence sent regarding student recruitment on a daily basis • Assist in the training of student recruitment team to assist with school presentations and recruitment events • Create an organized filing system for records of student applicants and recruitment events that take place throughout the year • Follow the recruitment schedule for student enrollment • Edit written work when needed from the Recruitment Office around student recruitment • Develop materials for student recruitment use and productivity • Regularly attend staff meetings when conducted • Experience working with middle school to high school students placement- Highly preferred • Experience with recruitment and student enrollment as well as relationships with RI middle schools • Complete additional assignments from Director when needed Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30am until 5:00pm Evenings and weekends are required throughout the year.
