Job Description: The Institute for Student Achievement (ISA) is currently seeking experienced, dynamic, and creative-thinking educators for it's Program Development department. The Institute for Student Achievement is an exciting, innovative not-for-profit school redesign organization that works in partnership with school districts to create new small high schools that prepare all students to graduate ready for college success. ISA’s current partner schools are located in New York City, Buffalo, Westchester, and Long Island in New York as well as Atlanta, Georgia and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The individuals who assume these positions will join our leadership team as we continue to build and expand our organization.
The Director of New School Development will support, manage and monitor the development and launching of new small high schools. During the planning phase, s/he will engage with principals and design teams to develop the vision, mission, structure, instructional framework, and operation policies for the new schools so that they embed the ISA principles, are compatible with district and state policies, and are organized to graduate all students ready for college success . This position requires a strong leader who is knowledgeable about school organization, college prep instruction, and practices that can enact the ISA principles. The director of new school development must have a demonstrated record of success in starting small, college prep high schools and/or leading high school transformation initiatives compatible with ISA’s principles.
Qualifications: The Institute for Student Achievement is looking for innovative, creative-thinking, exceptional individual with successful urban high school leadership experience and knowledgeable about small high schools, small school development, and big high school conversions into small learning communities. S/he will have experience opening or leading a small high school or small learning community or leading a big high school conversion. S/he must also possess the proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. A Masters Degree in education or a related field is required.
Salary & Benefits: $120,000
