Additional Information:
I am a highly qualified and committed educator with experience teaching 9th grade U.S. Government, 9th grade Geography, 9th Grade U.S. and World History, 10th grade U.S. History and Humanities, 11th grade U.S. History, and Virtual High School. I currently teach on a grade 9/10 looping team at Noble High School, and previously taught grades 9-11 at Mascenic High School. My eager interest in all aspects of Social Studies makes me excited to develop my experience further.

Both my education and experience have prepared me for the teaching profession. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire with a B.A. in History, I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching with a 4.0 GPA. My graduate coursework included study in history, education, and special education, as well as a year long, full-time teaching internship at Oyster River High School. I have also been fortunate enough to travel to over twenty countries, many of these as a student, and therefore bring a unique perspective to the classroom.

Presently, I am certified to teach Social Studies in New Hampshire and Maine, and meet the qualifications of a highly qualified teacher. Professionally, I embrace challenges and opportunities to learn new content and skills. For example, in 2005 I completed graduate level professional development training in Netcourse Instructional Methodologies, qualifying me to participate as an online instructor in Virtual High School. In my four years of teaching I have attended many seminars, workshops, and conferences in an ongoing effort to continue my own education and bring improved resources and new ideas into my classroom. Recently, I was also recognized by ETS for outstanding performance on the Praxis II Social Studies Content Knowledge exam.

My teaching style is enthusiastic, creative, patient, and differentiated, with a focus on literacy and technology integration. I vary my teaching strategies and strive to balance rigor and accessibility within the curriculum, so that all students can be both challenged and successful. Teaching on a heterogeneously grouped team at Noble High School has given me valuable experience in planning and implementing interdisciplinary curriculum units and building positive relationships with students.
