Skills & Abilities:
My work with students, colleagues and parents over the past year at the Francis Parker Charter School has been very rewarding. As a full time 7th and 8th grade Arts and Humanities teacher, I have worked closely with a planning team of six in order to design and teach curriculum that integrates American History and Language Arts. During this time I have also participated in the New Teachers Collaborative, a year-long alternative licensing program approved by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Through bi-monthly seminars focusing on teaching and educational philosophy, classroom management and differentiated instruction and assessment, I have undergone an immense study and reflection of my own teaching practice and that of my colleagues. Now, I am actively seeking out other schools that have a similar emphasis on academic excellence, professional learning communities and individual student needs when designing classroom instruction and assessing skills and progress.
