Stop by Providence arts and youth development mecca AS220 to catch a performance collaboration between students from CES school High School for Recording Arts in St. Paul, MN and young people from Providence involved with AS220. $3 admission.

Providence premiere of  "Parent Power: Education Organizing in NYC, 1995-2010" | Thursday, November 10, 5:30pm, The Met School, 325 Public Street, Providence

Parent Power: Education Organizing in NYC, 1995-2010 chronicles the work of education organizing in New York City during the past 15 years. Produced by the Annenberg Institute for School Reform (AISR), the film offers an extended case study of community-based organizing across the past fifteen years, supported by AISR’s community organizing and engagement staff. An audience-interactive panel discussion featuring AISR staff members, education organizers and parents featured in the film, and other local organizers will follow the screening. Screening of "American Teacher," | Thursday, November 10, 7:45pm, The Met School, 325 Public Street, Providence

American Teacher is a feature-length documentary created and produced by Vanessa Roth, Nínive Calegari, Dave Eggers, and Brian McGinn. The film includes a musical score by Thao Nguyen and is narrated by Matt Damon. The film chronicles the stories of four teachers living and working in disparate urban and rural areas of the country. Their stories are told through a mixture of footage and interviews with students, families, and colleagues, as well as the teachers themselves. By following these teachers as they reach different milestones in their careers, our film tells the deeper story of the teaching profession in America today. Screening of "August to June: Bringing Life to School," followed by discussion with filmmaker Amy Valens | Friday, November 11, 7:30pm, The Met School 

August to June is an 88-minute documentary celebrating values we are on the brink of losing in the single-minded pursuit of higher test scores!  Come inside a public school happily and purposefully going against current trends and join 26 8-10 year olds, their teacher, and their parents for a year bursting with opportunities for curiosity, creativity and compassion. The Gamm Theatre's production of Hamlet | Friday, November 10-Sunday November 13

CES has partnered with the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre to present a series of learning experiences connected to The Gamm's presentation of Hamlet, which concides with Fall Forum. In addition to featuring "Now I am alone...Understanding Hamlet through his Soliloquies" on Saturday, November 12 at 10:15am in the Black Box Theater, a theater workshop designed for youth and open to all led by The Gamm's artistic director and star of Hamlet Tony Estrella, CES is invites Fall Forum participants to attend The Gamm's Hamlet peformances scheduled for Fall Forum weekend.
