Opening Session
6:00 - 7:30pm

Fall Forum 2008 opens by asking all of us how we Live It, Learn It, and Change It. Two individuals who have devoted their lives to the power of personal action to galvanize change on a grand scale get us started. Essential school graduate Asma May Fouathia is an activist, filmmaker, athlete, and coach who uses her multiple talents to increase our awareness and understanding of each other. Luis Rodriguez is a multi-genre author and community leader who has led young individuals and communities out of gang life and into personal pride and productivity. Two days after Election Day, Fall Forum’s powerful opening also invites you to contribute to the creation of a collaborative message to the President-elect. Add your voice to this call for the leadership we need to ensure a sound education and social justice for every young person.
