Fall Forum is a showcase for the efforts and insight of the CES network and others engaged in innovation. CES seeks Fall Forum Session proposals that bring the “Live It. Learn It. Change It.” theme to life by exploring specific successes and challenges of teaching and learning in accord with the CES Common Principles.
Tell us about creating schools for the 21st century that are personalized, equitable, and intellectually challenging through your life, through your teaching and learning, and through the change that you inspire.
CES audiences expect a highly participatory approach. Go for hands on and minds on. We encourage sessions that have the following characteristics:
Sessions that are led by or prominently feature students, families, and community members.
Sessions that explicitly address our theme, especially those that offer specific examples of the successes and challenges of enacting the CES Common Principles.
Sessions that focus on this year's strands and content areas (see below)
|
CONTENT AREAS
|
Teaching & Learning How do we put the Common Principles into practice at the classroom level?
|
Assessment How do CES schools authentically assess student learning and, therefore, school effectiveness? How can assessment create powerful experiences for learning and growth?
|
School Culture & Practices How do we structure schools to increase the quality of learning and improve relationships between adults and students?
|
Leadership What kind of leadership is necessary to implement the Common Principles and sustain the change process?
|

All facilitators must register for the entire Fall Forum.
*IMPORTANT CONDITIONS*
One registration fee waiver per session will be given on the following conditions:
1) The facilitator works with a school/district/org that is a CES National Affiliate for 2008-09.
2) After your application is accepted, you must 'confirm' before August 31.
*LIMITS*
Only one fee waiver per session, even if you have multiple facilitators.
Each Affiliated school/org/district may receive up to three total waivers. So, even if a school has five sessions accepted - three workshops and two IGs - they're only entitled to three waivers.
Individual Affiliates receive $100 discount on registration fees.
District Affiliation applies only to those who work in the district offices - it doesn't apply to school staff.
