This year's National Exhibition Month was a successful campaign, as throughout the month of May (in some cases in April and June), schools and support organizations across the country made their exhibition work public and advocated for the use of exhibitions in their local contexts.
Close to 100 schools and organizations across 25 states participated, recognizing and documenting student exhibitions, submitting letters to the editor of local papers, hosting public events to showcase exhibitions, and educating media and local leaders about the benefits of exhibitions. View a selected list of school exhibition summaries (some with photos), as well as an overall list of participating schools and activities across the country.
If you were unable to experience an exhibition in person, we have posted an
archived webcast of an exhibition that occurred in late May (if you haven't already done so, a brief registration is required).
Media Attention
The campaign received considerable media attention, with schools and/or exhibitions appearing in both national and local newspaper articles, education media and websites, and blogs. Among them were:
For all those who participated in the campaign, we invite you to take a moment and complete this short on-line survey to give us a report on your activities and to provide us feedback about how we can better support you.
If your school or organization received any media attention, please forward any clips or web links to us so that we can document the overall activity across the network. In addition, if you have any photographs or other supporting materials that describes your exhibition events, please forward them to Ramon Calhoun, rcalhoun@essentialschools.org.
