Guidelines for completing a CES school profile:

→ Description: Share information about your school. Is it a district or charter public school? An independent school? What grades/ages do you serve? How can you best describe your student demographics? Is your school urban? Rural? Suburban? Does your school belong to any other school networks?

→ Essential Question: What is one essential question your school community is asking this year? This may be a question that everyone involved with your school pursues through coursework and independent inquiry, or it may be a question that guides school improvement efforts and professional learning. Some examples of whole-school essential questions from CES schools:

  • Whole school essential question: what pushes us forward?
  • Whole school essential question: what emerges from struggle?
  • Professional learning essential question: how can we develop coursework that fosters the skills young people need to become adaptable lifelong learners?
  • Professional learning essential question: how can we develop coursework that fosters the skills young people need to become adaptable lifelong learners?

→ Competencies and Strengths: What’s your school great at? Please share those areas that your school community regards as cornerstones of your school practice and culture, especially if you’re willing to share these strong practices with other CES schools.

→ Challenges: What specific problems is your school community facing for which you are seeking support and solutions?

→ Employment Opportunities: Please list open positions for which you’re seeking candidates.
