After Friday, that price will rise to $400 for CES affiliates/$500 for non-affiliates. This registration fee includes all programming, light breakfast and lunch each day, and an invitation to our fabulous final celebration on the evening of Saturday, December 3. Other Fall Forum highlights include:

  • Panels and speakers on topics including CES history, equity and race, progressive education’s future, and a policy forum examining promising state assessment initiatives
  • More than 50 educator- and student-led workshops aligned to five content strands (school design, student voice, classroom practices, community connections, and leadership/professional development)
  • Storytelling sessions highlighting personal stories of the journey of CES and the impact of the Common Principles; open networking opportunities and small group sessions with national thought leaders
  • Progressive Ed Bookstore featuring the core CES collection of publications and inspiring new titles, along with book signings with CES authors
  • Featured speakers and guests including Linda Darling-Hammond, José Luis Vilson, Ron Berger, Deborah Meier, Dennis Littky, Nancy Sizer, Linda F. We are also offering school visits and other pre-conference activities on December 1. School visits to your choice of three of Rhode Island’s most innovative and successful schools (Blackstone Academy Charter School, The Learning Community, and The Met School) are $150 per person and will be offered until we reach capacity for each. This price will remain
the same after October 7, and school visits may be added to existing Fall Forum registrations.

This gathering will be CES’s final Fall Forum, and we expect to reach capacity. Please register at cesfallforum2016.eventbrite.com to secure your place at this historic conversation as we reflect on the work of the Coalition of Essential Schools, the contributions of Ted Sizer and generations of CES educators, and the future of schools led by the questions and passions of students and teachers.
