Job Description:

AISR seeks a Program Assistant to support technical assistance and research projects focused on educational equity in urban and underserved communities in the United States. This position increases Annenberg's staff capacity to address increasing opportunities for technical assistance and research support work in partnership with community-based organizations, school districts, teachers’ unions, and philanthropic foundations. Additionally, the program assistant will play a supporting role for growing efforts in New England to connect youth organizing and engagement activities in the region.

Major Responsibilities:
Participation in technical assistance and research support projects, assisting Principal Investigators and project leaders in the development of technical assistance as well as research grant proposals/activities and being an integral member of and support the Community Organizing and Engagement team.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, policy, politics or related field preferred.
At least 2 years of work experience performing varied program and administrative work duties in education, policy, politics, or a related field.
Familiarity with developing and understanding budgets and tracking financial activities.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Detail oriented and well-organized.
Experience working with communities and schools from an asset-based orientation and a demonstrated commitment to educational equity and social justice.
Familiarity with education organizing, community engagement, community development, and/or education policy and politics.
Experience managing multiple responsibilities across distinct projects.
Experience and cultural competence in working with racially and socioeconomically diverse communities and multiple stakeholders, including youth, families, school and district personnel, policymakers, and other community leaders.
